“Good base for visiting wineries, Solvang”
This Marriott in Buellton is quiet, and even though there was a wedding the weekend of our stay, we didn't even notice it. It's a fairly ok location if you plan to explore the Santa Barbara County Wine Trail, and visit Solvang. Nothing to see or do within the immediate vicinity of the hotel. Except for fastfood chains and The Hitching Post, there are not many dining options in Buellton either.
Our room was standard.... good size bed, nice sheets, clean, fully stocked bathroom. I liked the Bath and Body Works Aromatherapy toiletries :-)
Having read the tripadvisor reviews on this hotel prior to booking our stay, we already knew that breakfasts would be best taken in Solvang, which was about 3-4 miles away.
On the service aspect, not very pleased. We were not offered the free room upgrade, nor the free breakfast that comes with being a Marriott Gold Member.
If visiting the area again, we would probably consider staying at one of the many inns along Mission Drive in Solvang instead. There are many choices over there, and a more central location (more places to go/see/eat) compared to Buellton.
"Beautiful Contemporary Location"
We used the Santa Ynez Valley Marriott Hotel for our daughter's wedding reception. The hotel facilities were clean and contemporary. The staff was friendly and we felt we received great value for our daughter and son-in-law's special day!
"Wonderful Place to Stay"
I travel a lot for business and always choose to stay at the Marriott chains, usually Courtyards. My husband and I stayed at this Marriott with "free points" I had accumulated. Upon arrival at check-in, they upgraded us to a Jacuzzi suite. The hotel had all of the usual Marriott features that I enjoy: Comfortable bedding, friendly staff, buffet breakfast, free internet. We would stay at this location again in a second. It was very close to Solvang (about a 5 minute drive) and walking distance to the Firestone Brewery & Restaurant. Perfect gateway hotel to the Santa Ynez Valley wine country.
